My Story

Childhood
Calvin Johnson Jr. was born in Newnan, Georgia and raised in South Atlanta- Calvin is the son of Calvin Sr. and Arica Johnson. Calvin was known as the child one might call “into everything”. The second born of four children, Erica, Calvin, Wali, and Elan; Calvin bore witness to his parents’ consistency and success within their vocations and raising their family.
Several principles that were instilled in Calvin at an early age: if you’re going to do something do it to the best of your ability; do unto others as you’d have them do unto you, and to be relentless in your pursuit of excellence. Calvin can speak for his siblings when he says those principles shaped the competitive yet compassionate spirit they exude.

Family
After “the game” Calvin was ready to begin a family of his own. He met his better half during his playing days in Detroit. Both he and Brittney were consumed by their demanding careers, they found a way to spend more time together.
She is more than Calvin’s soulmate, she is a wife, a mother, a caretaker, a mentor, and to all that know her one of the sweetest selfless souls they know. Calvin truly admires how she loves their two (soon to be three) boys, Caleb and Calvin III. Calvin’s family serves as his inspiration to continue to be a positive example and influence in the lives of his own family and those within his reach.
